Description

This property at Main St and King Edward Ave in Vancouver was previously occupied by a gas station resulting in widespread gasoline contamination in the site soil. Although the majority of the soil within the property was removed as part of the initial remediation process by others, Hall identified and removed remaining soil that had contamination levels exceeding acceptable standards. The remaining 3,500 m3 of material was used to build ramps and pads to complete the pile driving and shotcrete shoring. Upon completion of the shoring, all excess material was hauled off site and detail excavation was completed for the foundation of this mixed-use residential development.

Description

Hall Constructors was contracted by Chysik Project Management to complete the excavation and shoring for the sedoncd phase of a townhouse development on Royal Avenue in New Westminster. Hall utilized the sloping grade surrounding this site to complete the 7,500 m3 excavation quickly and efficiently. Attention to detail was necessary for the shoring on the zero wall which was constructed on three sides of the site.

Description

Hall Constructor completed this small excavation and shoring project for Cressey Developments. The major challenges on this site were working on a small building footprint with limited access and sloped surroundings. Hall also worked closely with the geotechnical Engineer to ensure that underpinning of the neighboring building and Granville St Bridge footings was done safely and correctly.

This is the second part of the UBC Ponderosa development. The east and the west building are separated by the Lower Mall and are located at the west end of the UBC campus. Excavation began late February, and was completed in May 2012. The total excavation volume of this building was approximately 3,000m3.
