This 45,000 m3 excavation and shoring project was completed for Marcon Construction in late 2018 and early 2019 to assist in the construction of this modern twin tower development in Vancouver’s West End. The schedule was a major factor on this project and Hall Constructors was able to deliver the excavation on time and on budget.
This 65,000 m3 excavation and shoring project was completed for Centreville Construction in late 2016 and early 2017 to assist in the construction of 3 high rise apartments near the Canada Line. It consisted of 42 steel piles, 20,000 lineal feet of soil anchors, and 38,000 square feet of shotcrete shoring. The biggest challenge on this job was dealing with the large amount of rain and snow encountered throughout the fall and winter.
Hall Constructors was contracted by Cressey Developments to complete this 31,000 m3 excavation and shoring project associated with a new residential development on the south side of Marine Drive in West Vancouver. The bottom portion of the excavation proved difficult due to very dense sandstone and siltstone which required extensive hoe-ramming in order to break up and remove the soils from site.
This 65,000 m3 excavation and shoring project was completed for ENM Construction in late 2016 and early 2017 to assist in the construction of a midrise apartment in Northwest Langley. The site was large enough that no shotcrete shoring was required and all sides of the excavation were sloped. The biggest challenge on this job was dealing with the large amount of rain and snow encountered throughout the fall and winter.
This 19,000 m3 excavation and shoring project was completed for Marcon Construction in late 2016 and early 2017 to assist in the construction of a townhouse development along Lougheed Highway. It consisted of 6,000 lineal feet of soil anchors, and 9,300 square feet of shotcrete shoring. The biggest challenge on this job was dealing with the large amount of groundwater which infiltrated the site from the north side.
Work involves the installation of a layered cap onto a prepared, filled landfill or landfill area. The layers which make up the layered cap consist respectively of gravel, sand, geomembrane, geotextile and topsoil, with vegetation planted in the topsoil layer. In addition, gas works, including vertical extraction wells, piping/connections and appurtenances integrated with the layered closure system, are also installed.
The construction/installation of gas works within the Phase 3 SE and Phase 3NE areas are included in the Work. The City’s Consultant has prepared the Specifications and Drawings for the Work which includes, but is not limited to, the following work outlined further within Schedule 2 – Specifications and Drawings:
Hall Constructors is completing the offsite civil work on this project for Townline Construction. The work includes new Hydro, Telus, Shaw, street lighting and municipal service connections for the building, as well as sidewalk and road upgrades for the surrounding streets.
Hall Constructors is completing the offsite civil work on this project for Onni. The work includes new curb, sidewalk and asphalt for the road surrounding the site, as well as extensive BC Hydro, street light and intersection signal upgrades. Hall has worked extensively with the Owner, City and local businesses to ensure that construction is safe and that disruptions are kept to a minimum. This is especially important due to the close proximity of the Lions Gate Hospital, city hall, fire hall, RCMP detachment and surrounding residential buildings.
Hall Constructors is completing this initial phase of offsite civil work for Marcon Construction, which will provide access to Ledingham McAllister's master planned Southgate City. The work will include a new access road, complete with storm, sanitary, water, BC Hydro and street light upgrades as well as a fully signalized intersection at Griffith's Drive.
