Haul & dispose off site 25,000m3 of bulk & detailed excavation, backfill behind external perimeter walls and installation of 1,800 lm of IBO anchors and 1,000 m2 of shotcrete shoring.
The contract for this project involved utility relocation, as well as excavation and shoring for Phase 2 of Wall Financial's Central Park project. First, Hall Constructors relocated 110 meters of 1350 diameter storm pipe and 110 meters of 750 diameter sanitary pipe which are both owned by Metro Vancouver. Once those utilities were moved off of the property, Hall completed the 43,000 m3 excavation by using a combination of secant piles and conventional shotcrete to shore the dig. This project also included installation of BC Hydro, Telus and storm/sanitary services for both phases of the development.
Project consisted of select demolition of BC Place, Jet Grout Piles, Driven Pile Piles, Bulk / Detailed / Mechanical Excavation complete with Shotcrete and Anchor Shoring system. Total volume of material removed was 160,000 m3 of which approximately 45,000 m3 was contaminated. Schedule was a major factor on this project and Hall Constructors was able to deliver the excavation 2 months ahead of schedule.
Project consisted of site preparation works to allow for the installation of 354 - 1 metre diameter Secant Piles to an average depth of 17 metres below existing grade.
This 15,000 m3 excavation and shoring project was completed for Marcon Construction in 2015. Though the site proved difficult, Hall was able to work with the Owner to deliver the excavation on time. Extra measures were taken to ensure that the neighboring creek was protected and that silt from the excavation was diverted away from the waterway. Hall also used it's ocean dumping facility to provide the most economic soil disposal option on this project.
The project consisted of an approximate 13,100 m3 Bulk & Detail excavation including shotcrete & Anchor shoring. Limited access and a long and narrow site made this project a challenge to complete on schedule.
Excavation and shoring for a senior care home living complex. This project included the construction or permanent shotcrete walls that were finished to match the natural rock outcrops in the area.
Hall Constructors was contracted by Metro-Can Construction to complete this 25,000 m3 excavation & shoring project. The bottom half of the excavation proved difficult as significant groundwater was discovered as digging progressed. Conventional pumping could not keep up to the water in the sandy ground, and Hall worked with the Owner to install a dewatering system to lower the local water table. In the end, Hall wrapped up another successful project by craning their excavator out of the excavation.
This project consisted of an approximate 14,600 m3 Bulk & Detailed Excavation including Shotcrete & Anchor shoring system. The challenge for this project was working very near sensitive utilities including several 600 KVolt lines and associated vaults. Extra caution was necessary but also ensuring the project was completed as scheduled.
Hall Constructors was contracted by Ventana Construction Corp. to complete the excavation and shoring for this new development which includes ground floor commercial with residential condos above. Since anchors could not be drilled at one corner of the site, Hall installed a steel bracing system to retain wall of the excavation. Hall also brought in additional equipment to break through the bedrock and boulders that were present at the bottom of the excavation.
