This 14,000 m3 excavation & shoring job for Marcon Construction was completed on schedule and on budget in 2015 by utilizing their ocean disposal facility. Special care was taken to retain and underpin a heritage building on the corner of the site.
Excavated 3,900m3 and placed 3,400m3 of engineered fill. Job completed on schedue despite inclement weather.
Hall Constructors completed this excavation and shoring project for Performace Construction in 2015. At the beginning of the project, Hall worked with the environmental engineer to locate and remove over 1,000 m3 of contaminated soil and one underground oil storage tank. Once the site was remediated, Hall progressed the excavation on the small lot by using the back lane and temporary ramps to maintain access.
Hall Constructors completed the excavation & shoring, as well as the offsite civil work on this townhouse project for Marcon Construction. Due to limited working space in this residential neighbourhood, Hall worked with the Owner on phasing the work in order to facilitate the construction of the building once it was at grade.
Under contract with Onni, Hall Constructors completed this 35,000 m3 excavation & shoring project using their barge facility for ocean disposal of all clean, native material. Hall was able to work with Onni to phase the excavation and allow the formwork contractor to begin early work on the back half of the site while Hall finished at the front. This meant that the first suspended slab could be poured before the detail excavation was complete.
This excavation and shoring project had the unique challenge of being located next to a BC Hydro substation, which resulted in a extensive network of underground high voltage conduits. Hall Constructions worked closely with Axiom Builders and the geotechnical engineer to locate all underground utilities and come up with a shoring design that allowed the excavation to proceed without damaging any conduits.
Hall Constructors completed this excavation and shoring project for Metro-Can Construction in 2014. The final 4 storey building was a significant upgrade to the community, adding commercial shops to the main floor, with residential units above. Hall was able to excavate through the bedrock at the bottom of the excavation and used ocean disposal for the clean soil to maintain the project schedule.
Hall Constructor completed this small excavation and shoring project for Cressey Developments. The major challenges on this site were working on a small building footprint with limited access and sloped surroundings. Hall also worked closely with the geotechnical Engineer to ensure that underpinning of the neighboring building and Granville St Bridge footings was done safely and correctly.
Project consisted of the Bulk/Detailed Excavation of approximately 17,000 m3 for the East and West Head House structures. The excavation was supported by a shoring design consisting of pipe piles, fiberglass anchors, IBO Anchors and Secant Piles. Once these excavations were completed, we completed a 8,000 m3 excavation in 48 hours to facilitate the pushing of the Box Tunnel followed by the rebuilding of the roadway in 24 hours.
Hall Constructors completed the excavation and shoring for this 118 unit condominium project, which was managed by Marcon Construction. Included in the 17,000 m3 excavation was the safe remediation of contaminated soils which were discovered during the work. As the project is located across the street from City Hall in New Westminster, much care and attention went into implementing safety measures to protect the pedestrians, vehicles and workers in this high traffic area. Hall Constructors returned to complete the road works and street lighting after the building construction was in the finishing stages.
