The 96th Avenue project involves ultimate Arterial Road widening including storm sewers, water mains, curb & gutter, paving, sidewalks, street lighting, traffic signals, retaining walls, preloading and bridge construction in the City of Surrey along 96th Avenue between 160th Street and 168th Street. One of Surrey’s major federal stimulation funded projects, a major portion of the project was completed in March, 2011. A second phase of the bridge crossing Serpentine River was completed in the summer of 2011. The major challenge of the project is the road construction between 160th to 164th. Construction in the area involves excavation and road construction work on existing properties on both sides of the Arterial. Major property restoration and reconfiguration to the properties in the area are part of the work in this challenging project.
